Elzhi & Black Milk on Splash! Mag

Here is some more Splash!-Mag footage with Elzhi & Black Milk. If you remember, I posted the first part of this video a while back. In the second part, they talk about the history of Motown in pretty big detail. These guys are both very intelligent individuals who are very up-to-date on their musical knowledge. Black Milk also talks about all of the people that made tracks from his project Music From The Color Purple, not to mention how as a producer you can’t put any of your beats on the internet anymore. Black discusses that he is debating one whether or not to make a beat tape (thank you god), but he knows he has to beware if he does. Elzhi breaks down why Lord Finesse is one of his most influential emcees and how he fathered some people’s style.

Little Brother & Just Blaze Live in Chicago

Here is some nice footage of Little Brother & Just Blaze rocking shit in Chicago at the recent Red Bull Big Tune Beat Battle. Little Brother is one of my favorite groups in Hip-Hop, and Just Blaze is one of the most fire producers in the game. You shouldn’t sleep on this one guys. I totally wish I could have been at this shit. Notice how Just Blaze gets everyone ready by playing some of his insane beats.

Skyzoo Shows You “The Beautiful Decay” (Video)

As you may remember, I posted the artwork & tracklisting for Skyzoo’s album, The Salvation, last week. This is the video for the first single off of the album. The track is beautifully produced by none other than 9th Wonder, and the video concept for this song is fresh as hell. Skyzoo spits each verse passionately from a different spot in Brooklyn. Being able to listen to tracks like this make me crave this album real bad.

Freeway Goes From “The Old To The New”

The Philly Freezer is back with another masterful cut produced by the proidgal son Jake One. According to the 2DopeBoyz article I read this track, “Old To The New”, will be on Freeway’s upcoming mixtape The Beat Made Me Do It. Much like Freeway’s Rhymesayers release The Stimulus Package, The Beat Made Me Do It will feature Jake One on the production boards (my lord). Don’t be foolish people, get your click on.

Brother Ali Gives Some Insight Into Us

Atmosphere Giving New York’s Webster Hall Its Dose of Ugly

It’s always good to have a little bit of Sluggo in your day, don’t you think? Atmosphere is out on their “When God Gives You Ugly” tour tearing down venues across the nation. During their performance at Webster Hall, URB got the chance to shoot a decent amount of footage (not to mention the video footage is pretty damn good) of the concert. If you’ve ever been to an Atmosphere show, you know the shit’s dope and the crowd is always involved. Just Blaze Talks Briefly About Jay Electronica

Two Jay Electronica updates in the last two days? I feel like the lord is looking down on me with a big smile on his face. Just Blaze spoke a few choice words to iHipHop about Jay Electronica and what’s been going down as of late. It sounds like these guys have been putting down some serious shit as of late. Just Blaze talks about Exhibit A, as well as the video trailer that they just put out. I got really excited when Blaze said that he is going to dedicate time to get “the record” done as soon as possible. I keep saying this all the time, Jay Electronica’s full length is going to change the entire game. Just Blaze is arguably one of the best producers in the game, and you throw Jay’s revolutionary lyrics/flow over Blaze Beats… game over.

The Sunday Show, Episode 11 “Nothing in Particular”

The guys at The Sunday Show are getting pretty close to wrapping up their first season of your favorite podcast about nothing in particular. The guys will run episode 12 (which will be the last of the season) and then they will be taking a little hiatus before season two premieres. According to the website, episode eleven was supposed to be dedicated to traveling tips and vacations but the guys got a little sidetracked. This episode is purely for entertainment purposes only.

Jay Electronica Brings You the “Dear Moleskine” Trailer

This video is by far the definition of epic (thank you 2DopeBoyz). Jay Electronica released the trailer to his newest track which is produced by Just Blaze. The first minute and thirty seconds is strictly beautiful instrumentals by Just Blaze, and then Jay goes in real hard with some nice rhymes. I have been waiting on a full length from Jay since the minute I heard him, I am still on the edge of my seat every time I hear a new track. I can assure you that when the full length comes out it will be up at Mind Inversion.
