Arms & Hammers is a high quality West Coast Hip-Hop outing with incredible production and great guest appearances; production features include DJ Kahlil, Madlib, Nottz & Blaqthoven, and guest appearances include Talib Kweli, Chace Infinite, Planet Asia, KRS-One, The Game, Too $hort and Kurupt. If you are a fan of dope Hip-Hop, I surely wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a great album at the price of free99.

Skyzoo Talks “Popularity”

Posted in Audio, Downloads with tags , , on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Here is the second leak off of Sky’s upcoming album, The Salvation. This joint is called “Popularity” and it is produced by none other than Nottz. The beat on this track is absolutely nuts, and if you know anything about Skyzoo, you know that the lyrics are going to be straight fire as well. Make sure you go out and support some real Hip-Hop on September 29th when Sky’s album drops.

Skyzoo Brings Hip-Hop The Salvation (Artwork x Tracklisting)

Skyzoo salvation

I’ve been waiting on this guys’ solo album for what seems like an ice age. Skyzoo recently dropped the artwork and tracklisting for his new album The Salvation. It looks like this album is going to be a defining opus with some of the best production we’ve heard in some time (Just Blaze, 9th Wonder, Black Milk, Illmind & Nottz to name a few). Skyzoo is a real emcee, and I can guarantee with the producers he has on board this album will not fall short of greatness. You can pick up this heat rock on September 29th. Meanwhile you can follow me after the jump for the tracklisting.

Album Review: Finale, A Pipedream And A Promise

Posted in Music Reviews with tags , , , , , , on Monday, May 11, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Finale is an emcee from the city of Detroit, Michigan who magnificently marvels me when he flows over the microphone. He has afinalecover voice that’s like a cross between 50 Cent and Kanye West (if I had to say) except for he’s much mightier than the aforementioned names. If you don’t know who Finale is, you probably should get familiar. This is an outstanding opus and a great entrance into the world of Hip-Hop that should be heard by all.

People that know me well know that when it comes to albums, production (to me) is a big determining factor on how I feel. The production on this album is nothing short of incredible and sets the tone of the album. If this was an instrumental album of just beats, I can assure you that I would give it an 8 or 9 alone. I remember seeing the production list and being amazed (J Dilla, Black Milk, Nottz, Flying Lotus & Khrysis to name a few), but what really surprises me more is that the lesser known producers craft concoctions that are just as good as the rest. Video: Asher Roth & Nottz in the Studio

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I posted about these guys earlier (seperate posts though) and now I’m posting a video of Nottz & Asher Roth in the studio. From the way things sound from the video Nottz & Asher are going to be putting out some classic material. They mention making nine tracks in 24 hours, and at the end all Nottz can say is “You’ll see…You’ll see”. I look forward to being able to listen to the material that these guys are talking about because it sounds like it’s going to be nuts.

Video: Nottz working on Detox in Dre’s Studio

This is only a 35 second video clip of Nottz (Nottz Raw) working on Dre’s new and highly anticipate album, Detox. From what I can hear in the background on this clip, this album sounds like it is going to be fucking killer. People have been waiting for this album for just about 10 years and now that we are seeing things falling into place it’s very exciting. I haven’t exactly heard when Dre is planning on dropping this gem, but I know I will be bumping this one for awhile.
