BK-One x Parker Vision

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 by Tim Althaus

After watching this video I can surely come to one conclusion. Radio Do Canibal is going to be a great, yet very interesting album. BK-One is an intelligent dude and you can tell he’s up on his shit. He discusses the music that inspired him to make this album, and the soundscapes you can expect to hear. Next he mentions how long he’s known Ali, and how long he’s been his tour DJ. BK also breaks down a few of the collaborations on the album, and how he loves bringing together legends on his album with the people he’s known and grown up with. On top of that, BK talks about the history of Rhymesayers and what they’ve been about the whole time.

Parker mentions DJ AM & Roc Raida and BK gives his thoughts about them, and how they’ve inspired him in what he does. He then shouts out Benzilla and talks a little bit about how the production was handled on the album. I can’t wait until this album drops, it’s going to be one of the most musically diverse albums to come out this year. Radio Do Canibal October 6th, get it.

Pete Rock Talks About: J Dilla, Jay Stay Paid & Upcoming Projects

Posted in Media, Video with tags , , , , , , on Friday, September 11, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Shouts to Crate Kings on this bomb ass video. Pete Rock recently sat down with Zeke The Freak (Peter Parker’s producer) to talk about how the whole Jay Stay Paid album came together, and how close he was to Dilla. He also talks about the new projects he is working on which include Petestrumentals 2 & a new Soul Survivor album. This is some truly great news, Pete is one of my favorite producers, and I can assure you that these projects are going to be ridiculous. Make sure you stay tuned for more news on the #1 Soul Brother.

As you can see by the video above, Mr. Peter Parker caught up with Stef at this year’s Soundset Festival in Shakopee, MN. It’s a good sized interview clocking in at just around eight minutes long, and the interview runs the gamut as far as topics are concerned. P.O.S. talks about the cup trick that his friend Allegra taught him on the track “Optimist” and how long he had been waiting to base a track around that sound. Another issue he addresses is how he likes to make albums that no one else has ever heard before. Great interview from Mr. Peter Parker, follow me after the jump for the Toki Wright video.
