Black Milk seems to be one of those guys that people don’t stop talking about. After a year like he had last year, he’s bound to make constant headlines this year with every move he makes. In this video for Out Da Box TV, Black talks about why he is doing his thing on the independent route and also about the advice that he received from Just Blaze. Whatever this guy does lately seems to turn to gold. I hope to hear a lot more from Black Milk in the future and you know if there are you will find them here.

Blacksmith TV Episode 3 – “Rocking The Bells Pt. 1”

Shouts to Okayplayer for having this video up. The footage on this episode of Blacksmith TV was taken at last year’s Rock the Bells Festival when Kweli was getting ready for his set. It’s amazing to me that they only gave such a great mind twenty minutes to preach. I know there are a lot of artists at Rock the Bells, but Kweli is one of the greatest emcees of his time. It’ s also very funny that Kwe rides his bike around NYC like it isn’t a thing. I love at the end of the video how the guy won’t let Kweli in to do his own show and Kweli has to tell him what’s up. Watch out for the rest of the episodes of Blacksmith TV coming soon.

Holy shit, what the fuck is this show? Red Eye? When did Fox News approve a show that would actually book this band for an interview – and what time does it air? Wow. How this band ended up on Fox News is beyond me. Great interview, amazing band:

Here is a video of Evidence freestyling over a classic beat by Alchemist at Fat Beats during an instore. Notice that EV is great when it comes to rhymes off the top of the head. This guy has absolutely torn the game apart the last two years and it’s no wonder. He’s a beast.

Video: Cult of Luna preview forthcoming DVD

Posted in Video with tags , , on Monday, January 26, 2009 by Ryan Buege

Sweden’s post-metal leaders Cult of Luna are soon releasing a feature DVD entitled Fire Was Born as a part of a redux release of their much-heralded recent album Eternal Kingdom (which even appeared on my top 10 of 2008!).

Fire Was Born will focus on a gig recorded at the Scala in London on the tour last July 2008 (featuring the extended lineup of the band – including two drummers) playing a 1 hour 30 min set. It will also include an interview with Johannes and Anders answering questions from fans all around the world and the videos for “The Watchtower”, “Leave Me Here”, and “Back to Chapel Town” and will be available for sale on March 23rd. For now, check out the following preview clip:

Here is another animated video for another song off of N.A.S.A.‘s debut album Spirit of Apollo (which drops Feb. 17th). I want to re-iterate what I’ve been saying all along, go buy this album when it hits shelves because it’s going to be something special and amazing. This is a nice animated video and I can tell you right now that I’m loving the way that these guys switch things up on the beats. Check the video and buy the album.

A/V: Royce Da 5’9″ “Part of Me” + Trailer

This trailer makes this video look like it’s going to be amazing, and to tell you the truth I will be surprised if it’s anything short of great. Royce Da 5’9″ has been creating a lot of hype lately for his new album Street Hop which is executive produced by DJ Premier. I can’t wait for this album to drop because it’s going to make some serious tremors on the underground and mainstream levels. Take a listen to the song as well because Royce has some of the best story telling abilities you will ever hear.

Here is some behind the scenes action with Evidence, Phonte, and Will.I.Am behind the scenes of the “For Whom the Bell Tolls” music video shoot. If you decided to get one of the best releases of last year (The LAyover EP) then you know that this was one of the only videos not featured on the DVD. To be honest I laughed my ass off when Evidence was talking to Phonte about exfoliation, that shit is downright hilarious. Check out this video because it provides some great laughs. I can’t wait to see the video when it’s done, you know for sure that I will have it up as soon as it premiers.

Video: Jadakiss (featuring Faith Evans) “Letter to B.I.G.”

This video makes me very happy. I am glad to see Jadakiss back on the scene because he’s one hell of an artist. Faith Evans also lends her beautiful voice in the dedication to her ex-husband. This song has a great beat with a nice electric guitar loop, and Kiss is very potent and on-point (as always) about his old friend. Give this song a great listen because it’s a great tribute, and go check out NOTORIOUS which is out now.
