This is a video tribute to the people of New Orleans four years after Hurricane Katrina from 2-Cent.com & Mos Def. Might Mos speaks some wise words of knowledge, and takes a tour through post-Katrina New Orleans. If any of you know about Mos, you know that he definitely tends to show his activist side every once in a while. This is definitely a touching and heartfelt video, it will open a lot of eyes. You may be asking yourself that exact question. Who the fuck is Ray Benzino? Well if you were wondering, Ray Benzino is the man behind The Source Magazine, and he’s no doubt a dumbass. In this video he talks about the new Jay-Z cover (hating on it), why Slaughterhouse is overrated (Really?), he also says “Fuck Royce Da 5’9”. Apparently Benzino wanted to order a coffin for himself, because I dont think anyone should be fronting on the Slaughterhouse Machine, especially a dude that doesn’t make good music. Ray ended up taking it one step further and releasing an Eminem & Slaughterhouse diss track called “Good Fellaz”. Man, Madlib is a total bully on the beats. This shit goes hard as hell. This track, “Get Ya Money Right”, is off of the forthcoming Madlib & Strong Arm Steady project Stoney Jackson. You know that shit is going to be on the realest label out there, Stones Throw. Defari, Krondon & Phil The Agony definitely leave this track decimated, and Madlib cooks up a beat that is just as infectious as Swine Flu. Don’t sleep on this one, you will regret it.

Mick Boogie is doing did a remix project of Peter, Bjorn & John’s album Living Things entitled Re-Living Thing. It sounds like the album is going to be incredibly dope and it is going to features an all-star cast alongside Mick Boogie. This track , “Just the Past (nVMe remix)”, features Detroit heavy hitters Black Milk, T3 & Big Sean. If this track is any indication of the amplitude of this project, it’s going to be fucking incredible. Damn, the Commissioner has done it yet again.

On a separate note, why the fuck do the good have to die young? Here is a video of Hov saying some kind words and remembers rocking the stage with DJ AM who, if you didn’t know, passed away this last weekend. It’s a damn shame that the lord decides to take people that have monumental impacts on others, especially when they are young.

Your favorite rappers favorite ghostwriter, and the R&B prodigy from Canada linked up to remake De La Soul’s classic track “Baby Phat“. Your boy Skillz & Colin Munroe do a great job of remaking an already great song. To be honest, I totally agree with the message that is being displayed on this track. All you ladies out there should definitely give this track a listen.You can catch this track with many other De La remakes on Mick Boogie’s newest project with Terry Urban, Le Da Soul: 20 Years of De La Soul.

All of you hardcore heads out there know that Q-Tip had a project that was tragically shelved called Kamaal the Abstract. Thanks to the good lord the project will see the light of day on September 15th. I can’t tell you how personally ecstatic I am. All of Tip’s music is classic (solo & Tribe), and I have a feeling that this album is going to be no different. Here is another legendary emcee that I never get sick of hearing about. Chali 2na (as all of you should know) is the former frontman of Jurassic 5, and he has one of the most recognizable voices in Hip-Hop. In this video the Verbal Herman Munster speaks on his latest solo album, Fish Outta Water, and how it’s been something that has been in his mind for a long time. Chali also talks about trying to make his music that it connects on an emotional level with the listener, as well as how his son inspires his music. Definitely worth checking out, Chali is a legend.
