Damn these cats are incredible. I don’t really have to say much more than that. You all should do yourself a favor and watch some of the best cats in the game do their thing off the top of the knot.

This is a gem that Nah Right uncovered. This Evidence interview is from roughly three years ago (20/20 era). The video starts off with a nice little performance of the Dilated track “Back Again”, which is definitely one of my favorites. After that, the interview starts and EV starts talking about the constants in Hip-Hop (which is evolution). EV also talks about how the labels get a cut in what seems like everything. I love how, even back then, Evidence was talking about wanting to carve his own path in the Hip-Hop game. Shouts to the dopest emcee/producer/advocate on the planet.
Damn this shit sounds like it is going to go hard as hell. Here is some footage of Brother Ali & Toki Wright in the studio during the making of a new track featuring Evidence entitled “The Freshest Kids”. Apparently they are making this track for the “Fresh Air Tour”, which I already have my tickets for (and you should to). If I may mention, the beat on this track sounds beyond sick. Also, listen for Toki going in at the end of the track, “Inglorious Bastards/enjoying this action, make audience backspin/kick like a 44 magnum, ribbed like a trojan magnum package/I’m askin’ how the kid rappin’ above average”. DAMN.

There aren’t many up and coming emcees that have the hype that Fashawn has garnered for himself. He’s already got Evidence & Alchemist backing him like crazy, not to mention that he has a full length album coming out that is produced entirely by Exile. Needless to say, if you have had your ear to the ground for the the last year or so, you should know about Fash by now… I read an article on HipHopDX about this guy, and he seems like he is one hell of a worker when it comes to doing his thing.
Fashawn’s aforementioned debut album with Exile, Boy Meets World, is going to be pushed back to October because of personal issues that he has to tend to. According to the article, the fans can expect a lot of 90’s influence on this album from the likes of Common, Nas & Gang Starr. One can say that there may be great deal of nostalgia attached to this album.
All of you heads out there need not worry. Fashawn will be releasing a mixtape with Alchemist which will be coming soon. This is what Fash had to say about working with ALC, “Hanging around Alchemist all day, you know I’m hearing the best beats you can possibly imagine and I’m writing the craziest shit you can possibly imagine”.
It sounds like we can expect some bright things from Fashawn in the future, this guy seems to be the future of West Coast Hip-Hop right along the side of emcee Blu & Evidence. Make sure you stay tuned, I will have my eye open for any news that pertains to this guy.

Thank you to Shake over at 2DopeBoyz. This is just some raw footage of one of my favorite emcees and one of my favorite producers. News about Evidence never seems to get old to me, and it seems like Cats & Dogs is right around the corner. I haven’t been able to put Alchemist’s Chemical Warfare down for the last two weeks, it just keeps getting better after every listen. Make sure you guys watch out for the Step Brothers album coming out next year as well.

Brother Ali already released the critically acclaimed Truth Is Here EP this year, and now he is gearing up to release his full length Us which is due out this fall. Ali isn’t usually known for large amounts of guest appearances on his albums, but on this outting we will see more than we usually do. Joining him on the mic will be Chuck D, Freeway, Joell Ortiz & Stokely Williams. There is no word yet on the production for the album, but knowing Ali’s traditional formula I’m guessing Ant will have a huge role in this one. Those 2 have never made a miss, always hits but I wouldn’t mind seeing Jake One adding some of his pristine production to the bill.
