The Step Brothers Ring In On Health Care

Posted in Media, Video with tags , , , , on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Here is another interview with Alchemist & Evidence talking to Jabari. This time they sound off on the health care in the United States, and how important it is to them. As you can imagine, these guys both feel that it is very important and it’s something that everyone should have. Evidence ends up getting pretty deep with it, and I love when he goes to AL to say something funny, shit’s priceless.

Jabari Interviews The Step Brothers

Posted in Media, Video with tags , , , , , on Monday, August 24, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Man, these guys are two of the dopest guys on the planet. Jabari was able to interview Evidence & Alchemist backstage at a recent Rock the Bells concert. I have to mention right away that I was laughing about 90% of the time because Alchemist is fucking hilarious. There are a lot of things touched on this interview and it gives you some great insight as to how busy both of them are. These guys have some of the best chemistry in the game, and it even shows in the interview how they feed off of each other.

EV talks about how he has been getting the respect that he set out to get, and how he is really happy at where he’s at even if the major media outlets don’t come his way. Alchemist speaks on how him and Evidence work so well together, and what it all comes down to, he also talks about his new album Chemical Warfare and how it’s going to have an elongated release. I don’t really think it’s necessary, but I’m going to say it anyways. I look forward to everything that these guys have to offer in the future.

Fashawn Talks Boy Meets World & Alchemist Mixtape

Posted in Music News with tags , , , , , on Sunday, August 16, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Fash 2There aren’t many up and coming emcees that have the hype that Fashawn has garnered for himself. He’s already got Evidence & Alchemist backing him like crazy, not to mention that he has a full length album coming out that is produced entirely by Exile. Needless to say, if you have had your ear to the ground for the the last year or so, you should know about Fash by now… I read an article on HipHopDX about this guy, and he seems like he is one hell of a worker when it comes to doing his thing.

Fashawn’s aforementioned debut album with Exile, Boy Meets World, is going to be pushed back to October because of personal issues that he has to tend to. According to the article, the fans can expect a lot of 90’s influence on this album from the likes of Common, Nas & Gang Starr. One can say that there may be  great deal of nostalgia attached to this album.

All of you heads out there need not worry. Fashawn will be releasing a mixtape with Alchemist which will be coming soon. This is what Fash had to say about working with ALC, “Hanging around Alchemist all day, you know I’m hearing the best beats you can possibly imagine and I’m writing the craziest shit you can possibly imagine”.

It sounds like we can expect some bright things from Fashawn in the future, this guy seems to be the future of West Coast Hip-Hop right along the side of emcee Blu & Evidence. Make sure you stay tuned, I will have my eye open for any news that pertains to this guy.

Evidence & Alchemist Perform “Letyourselfgo” @ Rock the Bells

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Thank you to Shake over at 2DopeBoyz. This is just some raw footage of one of my favorite emcees and one of my favorite producers. News about Evidence never seems to get old to me, and it seems like Cats & Dogs is right around the corner. I haven’t been able to put Alchemist’s Chemical Warfare down for the last two weeks, it just keeps getting better after every listen. Make sure you guys watch out for the Step Brothers album coming out next year as well.

*Side Note: “Letyourselfgo” is one of my favorite tracks off of The Weatherman LP

Damn, I don’t really have a whole lot to say. If you pirated this album, you should be shanked with a thousand microphones repeatedly until your death. Here are two new tracks from the Slaughterhouse conglomerate courtesy of 2DopeBoyz. These tracks both go harder than concrete, and I can assure you that I will be at the store on August 11th during my break to pick this one up. The first track below is “Microphone” which is produced by Alchemist, whom you all know never disappoints. The second joint is produced by Emile and it’s called “Onslaught 2” and Emile’s horns paint a beautiful backdrop for these Royce, Joell, Joe & Crooked to massacre. Don’t fucking sleep.

Behind The Scenes On The “Under Siege” Video Shoot

Posted in Media, Video with tags , , , , , , on Monday, July 20, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Man this one had my ass rolling on the floor the whole time. This is some great behind the scenes footage from the Alchemist & Oh No (Gangrene) video “Under Siege”. It seems like all these cats do is clown around and smoke good weed (nothing wrong with that). You will see some guest appearences by Evidence and Scott Cann.

Alchemist In His Early Days as a Chemist

Posted in Media, Video with tags , on Thursday, July 16, 2009 by Tim Althaus

I’m pretty sure this video is making the rounds on the internet like wildfire. This video is mad tight, and it features Alchemist making beats back in the 90’s in his room at NYU. You can see that his tools of the trade at that time were stacks of vinyl, an ASR-10 & the classic Technic 1200’s. It just goes to show that Al has been a beast ever since he’s been on the scene.

Album Review: Alchemist, Chemical Warfare

Posted in Music Reviews with tags , , , , , , , , , , on Thursday, July 9, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Chemical WarfareFor the last decade (and then some), Alchemist has been making some of the best beats in Hip-Hop. Much like his last album 1st Infantry he enlists a near all-star cast of some of the best cats in the game to help him bring you some real Hip-Hop. Another thing that you may notice is that ALC’s beats are just as deviously deadly as ever before. He sounds like he has been more at home with the MPC than ever, and Al’s chemistry seems like it should be in a text book it’s so good. Continue reading

The Step Brothers (Evidence & Alchemist) Tell You to “Just Step”

This is the shit that I like to hear. Last night EV dropped the newest Step Brothers leak via Twitter, and all I can say is that it’s a gem. Evidence and Alchemist make some incredible music together and this track is truly no different. As I have mentioned in many posts before, I really can’t wait for this album because it’s going to be raw as hell. Listen to Mr. Slow Flow and The Chemist rip apart this track. Also if you haven’t, make sure you go out and get Alchemist’s album Chemical Warfare which is in stores now.

Black Milk Broadcast, Episode 1

Posted in Media, Video with tags , , , , , , on Friday, July 3, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Black Milk is one of my favorite performers there is, the guy is pretty much flawless when it comes to music. Apparently when Black was touring overseas (with Elzhi (the best emcee on the planet right now)), he decided to put together some footage and start a new video series. In this first episode you get an inside look in the studio with Black Milk, Alchemist, Guilty Simpson and Hex Murda. You will also get some great live footage of Black Milk performing, and some hilarious yet insightful behind the scenes footage. It’s great to see all of the people over seas showing Black Milk love, and they also love to drop the n-bomb. Make sure you stay tuned for the rest of the installments, because you know I will have them up at Mind Inversion.
