After Joe Budden dissed Method Man’s lyrical abilities, Inspectah Deck released a song in retaliation and here at Rock the Bells ’09 in DC, Deck and Raekwon talk about their beef with Joe Budden. Personally, I don’t think this is the way to handle the problem, complaining about him on stage after quesitoning Budden’s “manliness” for not confronting them in person. After the stage performance, Raekwon sits down with undergroundhiphop.com to discuss the beef.

Gza and the Black Lips team up at SXSW
Posted in Video with tags black lips, GZA, live, ol dirty bastard, shimmy shimmy ya, south by southwest, SXSW, Video, Wu-Tang Clan on Monday, March 23, 2009 by Erik BurgPlaying only a few tracks together, and sounding rightfully out of sync, Gza of the Wu-Tang Clan and garage punkers the Black Lips took the stage at this week’s South By Southwest Festival. The footage comes courtesy of adkenc, and for being the middle of the crowd, picks up the audio very well. Gza spits over-top of the the basic and strange instrumentals that the guys put out. It’s like watching a DJ try and put together a really bad beat for a freestyle, it repeats the same kind of rhythm over and over and doesn’t seem to go along with the actual tune that Gza is trying to recreate. So yeah, It was a great idea in theory, and I’d encourage more cross genre stuff like this stuff, but this time it didn’t seem to work too well. Check it out for yourself though, Enjoy!? and check out more from adkenc HERE
“A Yo”, Method Man & Redman Are Back!
Posted in Downloads, Media with tags Blackout!, Hip-Hip, Method Man, Redman, Saukrates, Wu-Tang Clan on Friday, March 6, 2009 by Tim Althaus
I’ve been hearing buzz about a new Blackout! album that is in the works, and let me tell you I’m pretty pumped about it. Method Man & Redman just dropped this new track “A Yo” which features Saukrates and a bomb ass beat. I remember when Meth & Red’s album Blackout! first came out I had that shit. I was like 12 or 13 when that album dropped. Let me tell you, that album didn’t leave my constant rotation for like two years straight. Not only are these two guys great fucking emcees, but they are downright hilarious as well. Blackout! is a classic in my opinion and the thought of these two getting back together for another album makes me think about the possibilities.
These two have established themselves at the top of the game, and this track is one hell of an example. Make sure you listen to the track and stay tuned to Mind Inversion for current information about Blackout! 2.

I am starting to fiend for this album like crack. This is only the second track that I’ve heard and I’m completely blown away. Two tracks off of this album and I’m already feeling like this is a classic in the works. I posted about this album and the list of producers on this album is nothing short of amazing. Considering that Ghost has already been on two of the tracks, we can probably expect big things from the guest appearances on Only Built For Cuban Linx 2.

I can honestly tell you that if this is the actual cover for Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2, I would buy it solely for the album cover. This track is complete hotness if you know what I mean. Anytime that you get Ghostface and Raekwon together you know you are going to have an almost instant classic on your hands. Make sure you check out the track and go get Only Built for Cuban Linx 2 when it comes out. OBC2 is going to be one of the best albums of this year, mark my words.

The guy has it all, he’s one of the greatest rappers in the history of the game, he is part of one of the most highly influential collectives in Hip-Hop history and now he has his own doll. Rhettmatic was nice enough to release this mix entitled 36 Deadly Darts: The Ghostface Doll Mix CD which has some of the classics that you have come to love by Ghost. Raekwon gives details about Only Built For Cuban Linx 2, Wu Tour Dates
Posted in Concert Dates, Music News with tags Dr. Dre, Ghostface Killah, GZA, Hip-Hop, J Dilla, Only Built For Cuban Linx 2, Pete Rock, Raekwon, RZA, The Chef, Wu-Tang Clan on Monday, December 15, 2008 by Tim Althaus
It seems as though the Chef is cooking up some classic material once again. Raekwon talked to Pitchfork about his new masterpiece, the sequel to arguably one of the greatest solo Wu albums of all time, Only Built for Cuban Linx 2. According to Raekwon, “This record is the shit, it’s been getting around in my camp. It’s another masterpiece that is ready to be released.” The Chef also said that he strayed away from all RZA production because as an artist he felt as though he wanted to move on to other things. He noted that he has some of the best producers in the game for the last 20 years on this shit. Who would he be speaking of? Dr. Dre, Marley Marl, J Dilla, Pete Rock and DJ Scratch (holy shit, what a producer list) will be heading the production side of the album and guest appearances will include Ghostface, Method Man, GZA, Busta Rhymes & Inspectah Deck.
If you go over to the original article Rae talks about how he wanted the new OBFCL to compliment the original one coming out. he wanted to “be like seeing DeNiro do a mafia flick, do something completely different and then come back to another mafia film and be the same dude he was in The Godfather.” That’s almost exactly the way that Raekwon’s career has gone, he released two other albums since the original OBFCL and this is like him going back to the stove and cooking up classics.
It sounds like this album is already going to be one of the biggest albums to come out next year. All of you Wu heads out there get ready because this album is going to be exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Based on the last OBFCL I can assure you that chances are, you are going to be seeing plenty of Ghost on this album to.

Ghostface to release Ghost Deini the Great
Posted in Concert Dates, Music News with tags Def Jam, Ghostface Killah, Hip-Hop, Pusha T, Raekwon, Styles P, Wu-Tang Clan on Friday, November 21, 2008 by Tim Althaus
Well, in a seemingly endless year of great releases it looks as if there is going to be another great compilation album from a Staten Island legend before it’s all said and done. Tony Starks aka Ghostface Killah will be releasing his first official Def Jam collection entitled Ghost Deini the Great. This collection will feature appearances by Kanye West, Lil’ Wayne, Styles P, Ice Cube, Pusha T (Clipse), Raekwon & more. This album also (CD only) features live footage from Ghost’s trek on the Hip Hop Live! Tour, as well as rarities and remixes of some of your favorite Ghostface songs.
Ghost has had one hell of an illustrious solo career, he is highly regarded by many critics and this guy might be up there with the greatest emcees of all time. To me there really aren’t too many guys that can paint a picture like Ghost as well as be funny as hell at the same time. Go out and grab this shit because it promises to scorch the hell out of your speakers and break your neck.
