Good Lord, Sean Price has done it again. The artwork to this one looks pretty epic, and according to the post at 2DopeBoyz, this mixtape will be a prelude to the upcoming Mic Tyson project. It is going to be dropping on October 27th. You can expect to hear: The Boot Camp Clik, Royce Da 5’9″, Rock (of Heltah Skeltah), Ruste Juxx, Torae, Skyzoo & Poison Pen all rocking with Kimo Price. Don’t sleep on Sean P, you will regret it.

Here is some unreleased hotness from Nickel Nine. Thanks to 2DopeBoyz for the find on this one. Apparently this track was supposed to be on the Revival LP (No, not the Revival EP), which is an unreleased album. This track is super dope, and I think everyone should definitely take a listen to this shit. Follow me after the jump for the track download and Street Hop tracklisting. Continue reading

Sabzi (of Blue Scholars), 69ROLLS&OOF! (Mixtape)

Thank you to Matt Conway for this gem in my inbox. Here is a new mixtape from Sabzi (of Blue Scholars & Common Market). Here is what Sabzi himself had to say about it:

People ask me why I care about making a mix of Hawaiian tunes. I tell them that it’s because Iʼm from Seattle. I donʼt think I can apply the word ‘foreign’ to any cultural elements that have influenced me in becoming the person I am today. Through years of, um, ‘nourishment’ from grinds, to listening to Jawaiian tunes as a teenager, to starting a group with a military kid from Honolulu, to learning the meaning of ‘false crack’ the hard way (ha!)… the spirit of Hawaii has long maintained a notable presence in my life. And while Iʼm not Hawaiian, nor do I claim to be a local boy, I acknowledge and am thankful for the role that the Islands have played in the development of my cultural identity.

For me, a big part of the OOF! EP project was to experiment with a new way of identifying who we are and where we come from.  It was an exercise in global cultural expression . Perhaps this is the age we can start believing that “where we are from” is anywhere that has influenced us in becoming who we are. And perhaps our brothers and sisters are those who want to share this belief with us. When you embrace this idea, you start to think that home can be everywhere and your people could be everyone. New People comin thru, son!

Respect to In4mation for the nifty ‘OOF!’ logo they designed and lent us, respect to Ohana for engineering the delicious shrimp tempura + diced spicy scallop + krab + masago sushi that they’ve dubbed the ‘69 Roll,’ and respect to you for reading this and listening to these tunes.

Mahalo.”

Aloe Blacc Talks About “Houston”

aloe

If you haven’t heard of Aloe Blacc or Emanon, you should feel ashamed of yourself. According to 2DopeBoyz, Aloe Blacc & Exile (Emanon) will be putting out a new album. If you haven’t heard any of Emanon’s prior work, I suggest that you go out and get yourself acquainted. On a separate note, Aloe Blacc is one of the most talented guys you will ever listen to. He sings and raps, much like Phonte of Little Brother. On this track, “Houston”, you will actually hear Aloe sing and rhyme. Definitely something I can say I am looking forward to.

Here is a new cut from two cats on Stones Throw’s roster. Medaphoar (AKA MED) & J-Rocc are teaming up to release a project. Thanks to 2DopeBoyz, we have the first track, “The What”, to gauge our listening. From what I’ve gathered listening to this track, it sounds like this project is going to be something to keep an eye on. I had no idea J-Rocc was such a beast on the boards.

Shouts to 2DopeBoyz on the find.

Brother Ali, Joell Ortiz & Freeway are the “Best@it”

brother-ali-us

Damn, this track is borderline insane. As you all should know, Brother Ali has his newest album Us dropping this coming Tuesday, September 22nd. “Best@it” is the second leak that we’ve been able to obtain, and it features the Philly Freezer & Joell Ortiz alongside the Street Preacher Brother Ali. As you can expect Ant’s beat is ridiculous (which I’m sure it is on the rest of the album as well), and all three of the emcees featured spit top quality bars. I know that I said Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 was going to probably get album of the year, but I think this new Brother Ali album is going to be fucking epic. I can assure you I will be at the store next week, and you should be to.

Killah Priest Shows “The 7 Crowns of God”

KillahPriest_Elizabeth_Cover

Thank you Shake. That’s right, Killah Priest is dropping his official follow-up to Behind the Stained Glass on October 20th. The album is entitled Elizabeth (Introduction To The Psychie), and “The 7 Crowns of God” is the first leak off of the album. The track goes hard as hell, and it reminds me of that classic Killah Priest that I know and love. If you’ve never heard Priest, you should truly be ashamed, definitely one of the best out there. This track highlights Priest’s story telling capabilities perfectly, you shouldn’t sleep on this.

Cymarshall Law Live @ Hip-Hop Kemp Footage x “New Wu” Freestyle

Posted in Audio, Downloads, Media, Video with tags , , , , , , , on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 by Tim Althaus

Vodpod videos no longer available.

In the above video you can catch Cymarshall Law tearing apart the Hip-Hop Kemp Festival in the Czech Republic. In the video you get a nice little cameo from Devin the Dude in the beginning as Cymar is breaking down the situation. Another surprise gem is getting to watch a little footage of Blu & Exile performing together, which I’m sure is an incredible experience. At the end of the video you get to see Cymar rocking hard on the stage. Follow me after the jump to hear Cymar ride over RZA’s “New Wu” beat. (It’s super dope) Continue reading
